Commercial rates in Co Tipperary will remain unchanged for the year to come after the County Council agreed to pass the budget for 2015.
This week saw the first budgetary meeting of the newly amalgamated county council. It lasted a total of eight hours, and despite concerns the councillors agreed to pass the budget, apart from Cllr Pat English from the Workers and Unemployed Action Group.
The total budget amounted to €138,668,000. 40% of the budget comes from the money collected through the Local Property Tax and commercial rates.
