Independent TD Seamus Healy has said that although it has been confirmed that people will not have their water turned off for not paying water charges, a policy of reducing pressure is still an unacceptable response from government.
Deputy Healy was speaking after tens of thousands of people took to the streets of the capital over the weekend.
He said that water is a human right, adding that in his opinion, even reducing pressure to households who do not pay their charges is an infringement of that right.
