Fine Gael TD Tom Hayes has given a commitment that the Health Minister will meet with a deputation of people concerned with the conditions at South Tipperary.

The commitment was given to Save our Acute Services Committee in response to recent concerns about the conditions encountered by people at the hospital’s emergency department.

Chairman of the group Seamus Healy said that  he wants a commitment to open 12 beds in Our Lady’s Hospital Cashel which is aimed at taking the pressure off South Tipp General Hospital to be realised.

He added that the funds to address the problem are available for this particular type of situation.
