A public meeting on overcrowding crisis at South Tipperary General Hospital has been arranged for April 28th.
The meeting has been organised in response to the high numbers of people reported on trolleys at the hospital’s A&E unit in recent times.
The overcroewding situation has been the subject of concern and only last week the HSE promised to seek funding to open beds at Our Lady’s Hospital in Cashel to take the pressure off the Clonmel hospital.
The matter was also raised in the Dail by Deputy Seamus Healy who asked the Taoiseach for his response. To this Mr Kenny replied that he would raise the matter with Health Minister James Reilly.
Independent TD Mattie McGrath has now organised the public meeting and is inviting ministers Oireachtas Ministers and hospital management to attend.
The meeting will take place in Cahir Community Hall on Mon April 28th
