Co Tipperary TD Michael Lowry has appeared before Thurles District Court this afternoon where a Book of Evidence was served on him personally and he was sent forward for trial.
Mr Lowry is charged with three counts of knowingly filing incorrect tax returns on October 31st of 2003 and one further count on August 3rd 2007.
Mr Lowry did not appear before the district court earlier today and the Book of Evidence was served on his solicitor Michael Collins who told Judge Elizabeth McGrath that Mr Lowry would be present this afternoon.
The matter was adjourned so that the book of Evidence could be served on the Independent TD personally.
This afternoon the State consented to Mr Lowry being remanded on existing bail on his own bond of €500
