Merge of Tipperary Constituencies

It’s been recommended in a report published today that two Tipperary constituencies be merged in to one five-seat constituency.

This would result in a larger electoral constituency and the loss of one seat.

The recommendations were outlined in a report drawn up by the constituency commission.

Examining the report upon this morning’s publication,  Fine Gael Deputy Tom Hayes said that parts of the North Tipperary constituency will be merged in to that of Offaly while some of the South Tipperary Constituency will merge with Waterford’s.
