The council have refused a planning application for a residential care facility in Raheen in Golden.

The applicant Nua Healthcare based in Kildare were seeking to change the use of the former bed and breakfast establishment to provide a residential care facility.

If it had been given the greenlight it would have accommodated 1 staff and 8 service users within a 9 no. bedded facility.

The plans included the development consisting of a 25 sqm garden room, provision of landscaping, and waste and surface water drainage works and all associated site worksTransport Infrastructure Ireland believed the site of the proposed development is located in close proximity to the preferred and/or approved route of a national road scheme adding they felt the proposed development could prejudice plans for the delivery of this schem
