Labour TD Alan Kelly said those elected to the Dail need to find way to form government

Labour TD Alan Kelly has said today that his party needs to take time in opposition to consider its failure to engage with the public in a way that could have returned it to government.  Speaking to Tipperary Mid West Radio this morning, the Portroe TD said that the electorate had sent a message to his party that it wanted a change in government, and that it did not include Labour in that plan.

However, Mr Kelly also said that if those elected to the Dail want to be taken seriously and want what is best for the people, then they need to find a way to form a government.  He added that if this leads to the possibility of a Fine Gael / Fianna Fail administration, then they will need to put Civil War politics aside and find a way to forming a stable government…
