A number of houses on St Michael’s Street in Tipperary Town have been evacuated after what is believed to be an old artillery shell was discovered at the premises on the street this afternoon.
The discovery has prompted gardai to close St Michael’s Street to traffic as a precaution pending the arrival of the Explosive Ordinance Disposal team.
