Cahir LEA Candidate Tom Hennessy is calling on the council to do more to help keep money in people’s pockets.

Commenting on a recent report released by Doddl.ie, Mr Hennessy says many consumers are losing out and the council should be there to help.

Doddl.ie is a website service that assists in securing home finance and switching mortgages.

Mr Hennessy says consumers could be paying thousands more per year by not switching their mortgage to an alternative provider.

Mr Hennessy is calling for the Local Enterprise Office to be asked to assist persons to apply for and switch mortgages which he says is “one way the council can proactively improve people’s lives.”

The State does provide financial advice free of charge for citizens via the Money Advice and Budgeting Service (MABS).
