Musical Societies in County Tipperary secured 9 nominations for the Association of Irish Musical Societies(AIMS)National Awards Festival with the winners to be revealed on Saturday 15th.
Tipperary Musical Society secured 3 nominations – Ruth Hadnett for the Mary Kelly Award also known as the Unsung Hero Award, Deirdre Ryan is nominated in the Best Comedienne category for her performance as Frau Blucher in Young Frankenstein – Jason Ryan is also nominated for his programme for this show.
Thurles Musical society has two nominations for it’s production of Big Fish, which is shortlisted in the Best Technical Production Category and in the Best Actor category for David McElgunn.
Carrick on Suir is nominated for the Best Stage Management Award for it’s production of “9 to 5” with Michael O’Hara the Stage Manager for this production.
Nenagh Choral Society is nominated for best Choreography for it’s production of Beauty and the Beast and for Best Programme.
The Nenagh Choral Society Youth Academy secured a nomination for it’s production of Legally Blonde in the Best Ensemble Category.
