Responding to Eurostat figures revealing that 68 percent of Irish young adults aged 25 to 29 remain living in their parental homes because of the housing shortage, Deputy Mattie McGrath is blaming Fianna Fail and Fine Gael for Ireland’s housing crisis. The Tipperary TD says the two parties have let down the young people of Ireland as regards housing.

The Eurostat data shows that the percentage of young adults living with their parents is 4.4% in Denmark, 5.7% in Finland and 6.3% in Sweden – in stark contrast to Ireland’s 68%. Deputy McGrath says Fine Gael cannot blame the crisis on Fianna Fáil for their historical ‘economic mismanagement and that it is current government policy that has led to what he terms a “housing disaster”.

A special event is to take place on Sunday, August 20th, at the new Art Gallery on Davis street Tipperary town.
