Pearse Park Residents Call For Action On Wastewater System

310

Residents in Pearse Park in Tipperary Town are calling for action on the wastewater system.

The residents  want Uisce Eireann to address a problem with the system as drains and gullies are blocked causing surface water to accumulate and utility covers are put under pressure by material bubbling up from underneath.

The residents say they  have contacted two local public representatives, Cllr Tony Black and Tipperary TD, Martin Bowne, to engage with Uisce Eireann for a response.

Some residents complain of a smell in the area forcing them to keep windows closed.

The accumulated liquid is now causing the road surface and paving stones to become unstable in some areas of the estate.

The residents say the problem has been particularly bad since Friday July 14th with no satisfactory response from Uisce Eireann.

Cllr Tony Black says the problem is ongoing for far too long and describes the situation as “another example of the contempt Uisce Eireann have for communities.” Uisce Eireann have been contacted by Tipp Mid West Radio for a response.
