Two local groups are praising the generosity of the community.  The Tipperary town Daffodil Day event raised a total of €16,670 this year.  A representative of the Irish Cancer Society, Nicole McMahon, travelled to Tipperary for the cheque presentation event held in the Tipperary Community Services Centre. Kathleen Dalton, Greta English, Maura Collins, Patricia O’Connor and Yvonne Kelly represented the Committee for the cheque presentation.

On Friday March 24th a team of volunteers collected donations at six locations in Tipperary town – prior to that volunteers had prepared the flowers and merchandise for distribution.

The Local Play In Pink Committee are also delighted with the support for their two day event held at the Tipperary Golf and Country Club, Dundrum on June 21-22. The event this year, had hoped to meet last year’s figure of €11, 945 but actually surpassed this and realised a total of €14,500. These funds are earmarked for the National Breast Cancer Institute. The organisers make an effort to involve as many as possible by hosting a coffee morning and golf competitions for youths and adults male and female in addition to a BBQ.
