Tipperary Municipal District is to allocate €78,800 to festivals and events across the district in 2023.
A total of €34,000 is allocated to 45 smaller events such as sports days, senior citizen parties and St Patrick’s day events.
The applicants will receive sums ranging from €400 to €2,000.Under the larger Municipal scale events a total of €34,000 is allocated to 7 festivals – Cashel Arts Festival is allocated €14,000, Ballyporeen Music Maker event is to get €5,000 and five other festivals are each allocated €3,000 – these are the Rhododendron Walking festival, the General Liam Lynch Commemoration, the Tipperary Festival, the Donohill Music and Sports weekend and the Tipperary Chamber Summer festival in Tipperary town.
Applications for the funding had to be submitted by January 31st 2023.
A limited amount of funding may be available for new events that might emerge in 2023 and anyone organising such an event should contact their Municipal District Office.
