Prince Of Wales & Duchess Of Cornwall To Visit Cashel and Cahir

The Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall are to visit Co. Tipperary today.

The Royal couple are expected to visit Cahir and Cashel with local culture being the focus of the trip.

Yesterday Camilla met with Killenaule jockey Racheal Blackmore at the Henry de Bromhead Stables.

Camilla also met the remarkable Honeysuckle.

The Tipp Mid West Radio team will be on location and will be providing updates throughout the day.

To facilitate the visit the local authority says traffic and pedestrian restrictions are in place today. 

In Cahir diversions are in place from Castle Street and Bridge Street along the Mitchelstown Road to Tipperary Town Road and Butler’s Court towards Barnora from now until 1:30pm.

There’s also restricted public parking also.

Several routes leading to the Rock of Cashel will be restricted. 

Traffic and pedestrian restrictions will be in place from now to 2.30 p.m. 

The council says access to Cashel will remain open via the Dundrum Road, Golden Road, Cahir Road, Clonmel Road and Dualla Road. Drivers are being encouraged to use the M8 motorway junctions 8 and 9 to access Cashel town centre.

While no parking will be permitted on the Camus Road
