PHOTOS: The Premier County Goes Green

Thousands in Co Tipperary travelled to St Patrick’s Day events to celebrate the national day.

There was a mixture of parades and family fundays for locals to attend.

It follows a two years absence of such events due to the pandemic.

For many it was a time of reflection, remembrance and also celebration.

Tipp Mid West put out a call looking for people’s help, we wanted to showcase the community spirit in the Premier County by people sending and sharing photos from the event.

Cashel

Cashel are currently hosting a St Patrick on the Plaza event until 6.30pm.

Musical entertainment will feature Comhtaltas, Seanie Ryan, Wig Wam Glam Band, Cashel Pipe Band, Cashel Brass Band and street entertainers. 

The Cashel Person of the Year llwill be the Grand Marshall at the event.

Cahir

Hundreds lined the streets of Cahir for its St Patrick’s Day Parade which kicked off at noon.  The Parade theme for year was “ a feel good factor”.

Castle Street, Cahir

A family fun day took place in the Market Yard area in Tipperary Town which started from 12.30pm until 3.30pm.

A group of people from Ukraine were special guests at the event.

There was an extensive musical entertainment programme.

Food offerings, children’s activities  and representatives of first responder agencies were also there.
