Local Authority Opens Online Book Of Condolence For Ashling Murphy

Tipperary County Council have opened an an online book of condolence in memory of Ashling Murphy.

Ms Murphy, a 23 year old primary school teacher was murdered in Tullamore last Wednesday while out running after work. 

All messages of sympathy expressed on this Book of Condolence will be forwarded to the Murphy Family.

The book will close on Friday, January 21.

The Cathaoirleach, Members, Chief Executive and staff of Tipperary County Council have also extended their sincere condolences to Aisling’s family, colleagues and friends.

The online book of condolences can be signed at the website  www.tipperarycoco.ie .

Meanwhile, unions representing teachers and SNAs are asking schools around the country to observe a minute’s silence at 11am tomorrow in memory of Ms Murphy.

The INTO said: “We are encouraging schools to fall silent to remember a beloved primary school teacher, taken far too soon, and show our solidarity with her friends, family, colleagues and pupils as Ashling is laid to rest.”
