Drop in the number of public order offences.


The latest report from the Central Statistics office notes that homicide-related offences increased nationally by 20% in the year between 2011 and 2012.

However, in the five years from 2008 to 2012, that number fell overall.

In Co. Tipperary, the number of robberies recorded between 2011 and 2012 fell from 22 to 34.

Burglaries also fell from 737 to 693 while the number of firearms offences increases in that year from 9 to 16.

A drop in the number of public order offences was also recorded with numbers falling from 1,368 in 2011 to 1,202 in 2012.
