The Department of Transport, Tourism and Sport has confirmed funding to prepare for a possible cycle greenway between Clonmel and Carrick-on-Suir.
In all, €45,000 will be provided by the Department to South Tipperary County Council for consultants to be appointed to carry out a feasibility study and for the preperation of project plans including planning and tender documentation.
Commenting on the announcement, Minister Tom Hayes explained that the 20km track would be developed along the existing tow path between the two towns and would include the village of Kilsheelan.
