The ABP meat factory in Nenagh has today been told that new tests carried out on its products have found no evidence of horse DNA.

Supermarket chain Asda last month said that tests revealed evidence of horse meat in a Bolognese product, the meat for which they said originated from the Nenagh plant.

It has now emerged that following further tests by Greencore no further evidence of horse meat was discovered.

In a statement ABP welcomed the announcement, saying that it confirmed their own findings that there was no horse meat in the samples
