South Tipperary Fine Gael TD Tom Hayes has been elected chairman of the newly established Joint Oireachtas Commitee on Transport and Communications
Commenting on his new role within the commitee, he said that he intends to invite to its meetings key players in the areas of transport, tourism, sport, communications, energy and natural resources to express their views.
Media, and its current status in Irish Society and society’s attitude towards it will be another matter he intends to focus upon.
