The Doyle Family Present New Munster Minor Hurling Championship Trophy

The Doyle family in Holycross have presented a new trophy for the Munster Minor Hurling Championship. The cup is to be known as the John Doyle Perpetual Cup in memory of the great Holycross and Tipperary hurler who won 8 Senior All Ireland medals with Tipperary.  During his career John Doyle won 10 Munster Championship Medals and 11 National Hurling League Titles. He also won 3 senior county championship titles with Holycross Ballycahill.

John Doyle was born on February 12th 1930 and died on December 29th 2010.

The cup was formally presented to the Munster council at an event in the Horse and Jockey Hotel last evening. Tipperary man, Ger Ryan the current chair of the Munster Council accepted the new trophy.

GAA President Jarlath Burns also attended the function which was the formal launch of the Munster Minor Hurling Championship John Doyle Perpetual Cup.
