Tipp Fire Service Issues Safety Advice Ahead Of Halloween Weekend


Tipperary Fire and Rescue Service is issuing fire safety advice ahead of Halloween next week.

Pat Flanagan, a firefighter in Tipp Town says although bonfires are illegal it is likely some will take place on Tuesday night, he’s urging people to not stack the bonfire too high, make sure it is supervised and managed correctly.

Mr Flanagan is urging parents to check their child’s costume has the EU safety mark and urging people not to overload sockets with lights and ensure candles are not near any flammable material.

Pat says it’s important to check your smoke alarm on the regular bases and if there’s is an emergency to contact 999.
