Residents and motorists are being reminded that water pipe replacement works are to get underway this week in Golden.
Uisce Eireann says crews will be removing more than 2km of aged cast iron water mains with new modern pipes.
These improvement works will also involve laying new water service connections from the public water main in the road to customers’ property boundaries and connecting it to the customers’ water supply.
The section of works will take place along a segment of the N74, and continue through Main Street until the T-Junction close to Golden Kilfeacle GAA club.
Programme Manager Dave Murphy says this project will improve water quality, significantly reduce leakage and provide local residents with a sustainable and more reliable water supply for generations to come.
Traffic management will be in place where water mains are being constructed and the works may require some short-term water interruptions but customers will be given advance notice.
