The Tipperary Ambulance Action Group which was set up to campaign for the retention of ambulances services as they are at present is to hold another public meeting on March 10th.

The action group is concerned over plans by the HSE to remove one of the two ambulances that operate out of Cashel Town.

A facebook page has been launched by the group to create awareness of the threat to the ambulance service while, at a meeting last night, the committeeagreed to call on sporting organsisations across the county to join the campaign.

Speaking to Tipperary Mid West Radio today, chairman of the commitee Cllr Martin Browne said that while the decision to reduce the ambulance service may not be a political one, he hopes that political pressure may help to get the HSE to reverse the plan.
