Traffic Management Plan In Place For Shane MacGowan Mass In Nenagh


Tipperary County Council has put traffic management measures in place for Nenagh on Friday as the Funeral Mass for Shane McGowan will take place at St Mary’s of the Rosary Church, Nenagh on Friday 8th December at 3.30pm.  Following the funeral mass, the public will have the opportunity to pay their respects as the funeral cortege moves through Nenagh town Centre from Church Road to Market Cross.

Church Road, Nenagh will be closed from 8am to 7pm.  Traffic Restrictions will be in place for Kenyon St, Pearse St and Nenagh town Centre traffic from 2pm to 7pm. The Council is making extra parking facilities available throughout Nenagh town.

People attending the funeral are asked to follow the diversions and the signage in place for parking arrangements and pedestrian access to Nenagh town.  

Fr Pat Gilbert, the parish priest of Shane’s native parish, Puckane is to lead the Funeral Mass.

Shane’s funeral cortege is expected to arrive in Nenagh at around 3.15pm this Friday for Requiem Mass at 3.30pm in St Mary of the Rosary Church with a private cremation to follow.

The funeral arrangements are being looked after by JJ Ryan Undertakers, based in Connolly Street Nenagh.
