The EPA has published a summary report on the enforcement activities at licensed industrial and waste sites for 2021.

556 difference licenced sites were given a total of 1295 inspections.

One of the EPA’s key priorities for 2021 was driving improvement at licensed Industrial and Waste sites that had been identified as significant water quality pressures.

Tipperary Co – Op has recently completed a €5,000,000 investment in a new waste water treatment plant and a €30,000,000 investment in a new milk processing facility that will secure the future of the Co -Op giving it options for product diversification.

Tipperary Co –op say they share the EPA’s priorities in respect of environmental compliance and that issues that arose as the old facility was decommissioned are unlikely to reoccur.  97% of complaints received by the EPA last year related to issues around water and air quality, noise, odours and smells.
