The C-Saw Mental Health support service in Tipperary town is to mark 3 years in operation on Monday July 7th.  The service is to expand on July 30th with the addition of an evening service on Wednesdays between 6.30pm and 8.30pm.

The service operates each Monday morning year round at present at the Band Hall on Davis Street. C-Saw provides services aimed at helping to reduce the number of suicides. In addition, the organisation provides support and assistance to people who have been bereaved or in any way impacted by suicide. The group aims to raise awareness about mental health and provide support to those in need.

Those seeking a connection or access to counselling or other advice and support are invited to visit any Monday morning between 10.30am and 12.30pm.  Tea and coffee is provided each week to create a welcoming environment. The service is entirely free and operates on a drop in basis.

C-Saw Tipperary is provided by a team of trained volunteers (Margi Maxwell, Siobhan Nugent, Anne Moloney, Betty Whelan, Barry Walsh and Anna Tuohy Halligan) who can help to signpost people to services that may be beneficial including counselling with a professional available in person in Clonmel or by telephone.  The volunteers can make the appointment with a counsellor if requested by the person seeking help.   Information leaflets are also available providing information about support services and contact details.

The C-Saw service also operates in Clonmel and Nenagh – full details are available on the website csaw.ie.  A helpline is provided on Fridays and Sunday between 6 and 9pm by calling 087 1755750.

On Monday next the public are invited to attend the Band Hall on Davis Street, Tipperary town between 10am and 1pm to celebrate the 3rd anniversary of the service. The charity is grateful for financial support from the local community – most recently from the John O’Leary Celtic Supporters Club who raised €3,000 which will go towards rent and other operating costs.

Pieta House offers a crisis support line 24 hours every day available by calling  1 800 247 247.
