Four Tipperary Projects To Receive Funding Under Fáilte Ireland’s Private & Community SME Scheme

Four projects in County Tipperary are to receive funding as part of a National Allocation of €2.3 million in respect of 18 New Tourism Projects in  Under Fáilte Ireland’s Private and Community SME Scheme.

€248,000 has been allocated to Noan Country House near Ballinure to convert 2 stable blocks into catering lodges, €113,000 is allocated for the creation of an Eye of Nature Education Centre on Cloncannon BioFarm near Roscrea, €300,000 is allocated for Forest Lane Lodge, at Kilrush, Thurles to provide three 2 bed Family lodges and Carrick on Suir is allocated  €353,000 to develop a heritage centre and visitor experience.  The funding will be used to upgrade the existing Heritage Centre in the former Church of Ireland building in Carrick on Suir.

The scheme is Part of the EU Just Transition Fund programme, co-funded by the Government of Ireland and the European Union, further projects are expected to be announced under this scheme in the coming weeks.

The scheme is only available to the Thurles Templemore and Carrick on Suir Municipal Districts as it is intended to support the local economy in these Districts following the closure of Bord na Mona plants and the subsequent job losses.
