Tipperary Town Tidy Towns Implementing Expansion & Upgrade Of Their Floral Planters

590

Tipperary town Tidy Towns is implementing an expansion and upgrade of their floral planters.

14 new planters are being deployed around the town with planting specially selected  to support pollinators. The plants selected will provide food and colourful blossoms throughout the year.

These planters are made from stainless steel and although they have been filled and deployed Tipperary Tidy Towns says it had expected the containers to match the appearance of planters already in place in the Market Yard. The containers are expected to develop complete coverage of an “orange hue” over the coming weeks. The group intends to monitor the situation and may intervene to spray the containers or allow the orange colour to remain.

To date 10 of the containers have been deployed – 4 in the Abbey Street Car Park, 3 on the Link Road near the Bus Stop and 3 in the Market Yard. It is expected that 4 smaller containers will be placed on the bridge over the River Arra at Bridge Street. The 14 containers, planting and transport cost the Tidy Towns group €8,000.

In addition, Tipperary Tidy Towns Group is working with Creative Places to paint the concrete Planters located on the Limerick Road – this work commenced today with the application of priming paint and colourful designs will follow in the coming weeks.
