Progress is reported in providing a Town Park for Cashel.
The project is to move to an official “Turning of the Sod” ceremony on June 25th. The Park is to be located on lands between the Rock of Cashel and the Cashel Palace Hotel. The scale of the Park may face restrictions from the Heritage section of the Department of Housing and Local Government given the proximity to the Rock of Cashel.
Current Cathaoirleach Councillor Declan Burgess is to perform the ceremony just two days before his term in office concludes on June 27th.
The Tipperary County Council AGM will be held in Cashel on June 27th when a yet to be named Fianna Fáil Councillor is to commence the one year term of Cathaoirleach as per the Fianna Fáil, Fine Gael and Labour powersharing pact put in place after the 2024 Local elections.
