The Village of Dundrum is one of 5 locations in the county to benefit from today’s allocation of funds under the 2025 Community Recognition Fund. The Fianna Fáil TD for North Tipperary and Northwest Kilkenny, Ryan O’Meara is welcoming a total allocation of €404,000 to the county.
Dundrum Community Hall and Knockavilla Kickhams Donaskeigh GAA club are both allocated €50,000. Clonmel Rugby Football Club secures €50,000 and Clonmel Rowing Club is allocated €54,000. Carrick on Suir Playground upgrade is allocated €50,000 while Thurles Skateboard Park is also allocated €50,000. The park has been closed for several months as the council lacks funds for repairs. The final allocation to County Tipperary sees Roscrea Swimming Pool and Roscrea Tennis club benefit to the extent of €50,000 each. The funding is made following a call for applications issued by Tipperary County Council.
The Community Recognition Fund aims to support the development of community infrastructure and facilities for the entire community in recognition of the contribution being made by communities across the country in welcoming and hosting significant numbers of arrivals of refugees and persons seeking asylum in Ireland.
