The Irish Blood Transfusion Service(IBTS) is to hold 7 days of Blood Donation Clinics in County Tipperary later this month. The service is facing ongoing pressure to maintain blood supplies for hospitals in the face of increasing demand for blood products which is growing at a rate of 6% annually.
In addition, the service needs to recruit new volunteer donors on an ongoing basis as some donors become ineligible to donate or stop donating.
The clinics will be held in the Great National Hotel at Ballykisteen near Tipperary town on June 17th, 18th and 19th and in Thurles at the Dome near Semple Stadium on June 23rd to June 26th inclusive.
