Tipperary County council is applying to An Bord Pleanála for improvement works to the Clare Glens River Walk. The walks are a public amenity at the Clare Glens Woodlands and Looped Walk near Newport, in county Tipperary on the border with County Clare.
The proposed development consists of construction of a new entrance and access way for an emergency staging area, with trail upgrades in the form of improvements to the existing bridge, enhancement to footpaths and all ancillary site works as required to complete the works. The site is within a Special Area of Conservation.
Plans and particulars of the Natura Impact Statement will be available for inspection, free of charge, at Nenagh Municipal District Offices, until Friday 11th July 2025. Submissions on the planning application can be made to An Bord Pleanála until July 11th.
