Campaign groups in Thurles hope to secure the inclusion of the Thurles By Pass in the upcoming National Development Plan as typically only projects included in the plan are funded.
The Government has now opened a public consultation for the Review of the National Development Plan. The Government says all capital investment up to 2025 is to focus on delivering 300,000 new homes by 2030 and support Ireland’s competitiveness.
Communities across the country have been waiting for the consultation as it is an opportunity to make the case for capital investment in their area for projects such as new roads and other infrastructure.
The consultation is in the form of a survey and is open until the 26th of June. The short survey can be accessed at this link here – it is also possible to submit a document with the survey response.
Minister Jack Chambers intends to publish the review in July 2025 which will outline all public investment in infrastructure through to 2035.
