The Ireland Palestine Solidarity Campaign is holding a rally in the Market Yard in Tipperary Town on Saturday at 2pm June in Solidarity with the people of Gaza.

The United States has put forward a new proposal for a 60 day ceasefire. Hamas says the plan does not meet it’s demands but adds that the proposal will be considered. The plan calls on Hamas to hand over 10 living hostages and the bodies of 18 dead hostages (taken in the October 2023 attack) in two phases in exchange for a 60-day ceasefire and the release of Palestinian prisoners in Israeli jails.  Israel imposed a total blockade on aid to and resumed its military offensive on 18 March following the collapse of a two-month ceasefire. Almost 4,000 people have been killed in Gaza over the past 10 weeks, according to the territory’s Hamas-run health ministry. Aid supplies would resume if the deal is accepted.

The United Nations humanitarian chief Tom Fletcher wants nations across the world to intervene to supply food, water and medicine as he accuses Israel of deliberately starving the people in Gaza. The Irish Government is taking legal advice from the Attorney General about a planned Bill to ban trade with the Occupied lands in Palestine. The Government voted to defeat a Bill this week that would have ordered the Central Bank to cease facilitating the sale of Israeli Bonds in the EU. The EU is reviewing the operation of the Co-operation Agreement it has with Israel in the face of ongoing Genocide in Gaza.
