Tipperary County Council is conducting a survey in respect of the proposed Pedestrian & Cycling Walkway over the River Suir in Ardfinnan.

Tipperary County Council is trying to quantify demand for the proposed pedestrian and cycling bridge. The council says that in delivering a safe crossing it is also seeking to have a minimal impact on the visual status and heritage value of the existing bridge and historic surroundings.  The Project is currently at Phase 3 Preliminary Design Stage.

The Council installed traffic lights at either end of the bridge in 2015 to create a single lane of traffic to enable space for pedestrians to be provided on the existing bridge. Local Councillor Micheal Anglim has led a campaign for  pedestrian and cycling  infrastructure to be installed.

The project team can be contacted by emailing  [email protected]

The closing date for response to the online survey is June 20th. The survey can be found under the Consultations tab on the Council Website and at this link here.
