Gardaí In Clonmel Are Appealing For Witnesses Following Incident At The Blueway Walk Area

Gardaí in Clonmel are appealing for witnesses following an incident of assault that took place in the Blueway Walk area of Clonmel, at approximately 7:30 pm on Wednesday May 7th. A man pushed another man, aged in his 70s, into the water. The victim received treatment for non-life threatening injuries. The Blueway is a riverside walk along the banks of the Suir that extends over a distance of 21km between Clonmel and Carrick-on-Suir.

Gardaí are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident to contact them. Gardaí are particularly interested in speaking to anyone who may have seen a young male wearing a green t-shirt who then left the area in a dark coloured sulky. Persons with mobile phone or dash-cam footage from the area at the time of the incident are also asked to make that footage available to investigating Gardaí.
