UPDATE: The road is expected to reopen at 3.45pm.
Emergency services are attending a serious Road Traffic Collision on the R661 road between Dundrum House Hotel and the turn for Ballagh. The road is closed to through traffic at present.
Initial reports are that although a car ended up on it’s roof no injuries are reported to the occupants.
Eyewitness reports say three Tipperary Fire service vehicles, two National Ambulance Service vehicles and Garda vehicles are on site with associated personnel.
The accident is understood to have happened at approximately 2pm and may be weather related. Thunderstorms and associated heavy rain is forecast for county Tipperary until approximately 8pm this evening.
Drivers are asked to avoid the area if possible.
