Final Designs For N24 Road Project To Go On Public Display At Ballykisteen Great National Hotel

470

The final designs for the N24 Road Project are to go on public display on May 27th and May 28th at Ballykisteen Great National Hotel. The N24 road project began as the Cahir to Limerick Junction project but as it has been expanded the official title is now ‘N24 Cahir to Limerick Junction & Oola Transport Project’.

The project team is to issue a letter tomorrow to property owners within the corridors for the active travel and road components to advise them of the public display May 27th –  1 pm to 8pm and May 28th from 10am to 8pm.  On May 27th a second letter will be sent to property owners impacted by the proposed design for the active travel and road components. A map showing their property in relation to the proposed draft design will also be enclosed along with details of how to arrange in-person or online meetings with the Project team. It is understood that 5 homes are within the footprint of the proposed design and the team will meet with these people before the design is published.

The proposed design will be available to view on the project website n24cahirlimerick.ie and at Tipperary County Council Offices, Rosanna Road, Tipperary, Cappamore Library & Art Studios, and Cahir Library from 27 May 2025.  Staff will be available to answer questions and to meet individually with property owners at the Ballyksiteen event and later. The team can be contacted by email at [email protected] or by phone (061 951000).

The project is to deliver a new road from the M8 North of Cahir to a point west of Oola with bypasses for Bansha, Tipperary Town, Limerick Monard and Oola.  Once the final design is approved later this year the project will then be submitted to An Bord Pleanála for planning permission and for Compulsory Purchase Orders to be issued to acquire the necessary lands to build the road.
