The Tipperary U20 hurling team are Munster champions after a win over Clare last night on a score line of Tipperary 3-19 to Clare’s 1-20.
Goals from man of the match, Oisín O’Donoghue Cashel King Cormacs, Cathal English Fr Sheedy’s Clogheen and a penalty from Toomevara man Darragh McCarthy helped Tipp to retain the title they won last year. Tipp were awarded two penalties and Clare had a player black carded during the game. The team had a homecoming last night in Nenagh where captain Sam O’Farrell plays with Nenagh Eire Og.
Tipperary are now through to the All-Ireland Final where they will face the winners of the Leinster final between Kilkenny and Dublin on the weekend of May 31st.
The victory lifts the tempo leading in to the Senior team’s final group match in the Munster Championship on Sunday when they take on Waterford in Thurles at 2pm with a win needed to progress to the All-Ireland series.
