Tipperary Take On Clare In A Must Win Game For Both Sides In The Munster Senior Hurling championship

Tipperary will take on Clare in a must win game for both sides in Ennis tomorrow evening in the third round of the Munster Senior Hurling championship. 

Manager Liam Cahill makes several changes to the team with Rhys Shelly to start in goal and Noel McGrath, Conor Stakelum, Andrew Ormond in the starting 15. Forward Darragh McCarthy is unavailable due to a one match suspension after a red card in the Cork match. Peter McGarry and Billy Seymour are included in the squad while Joe Caesar returns as a sub on Saturday after missing the Cork game through injury. Robert Doyle from Clonoulty Rossmore starts as left corner back with  Eoghan Connolly from Cashel King Cormacs at full back. The only other two players from West Tipp are Johnny Ryan from Arravale Rovers and  Oisin O’Donoghue listed in the subs.

Clare has been boosted by news that captain Tony Kelly is fit to start along with news that former player of the year Shane O’Donnell is fit enough to be included in the match day squad.Clare lost  to Waterford and drew with Cork in their opening encounters. Tipperary drew with Limerick but lost to Cork. 

The top three teams in the Munster Round Robin Group will proceed to the All Ireland Series with the top two qualifying for the Munster final set for June 7th. Tomorrow’s match with Clare will throw in at 6pm.  Tipperary’s final match against Waterford is in Thurles on May 18th.  If teams are level on points  the outcome of their head to head will determine the ranking. Score difference will come into play after that to determine the top three places.
