Cashel Band Ferns – finalists for the 2025 Irish Youth Music Awards

Cllr Liam Browne is calling on the public to support a young local band as they raise funds for an upcoming trip to the Irish Youth Music Awards.  “Ferns” will be busking from 1 o’clock tomorrow Saturday May 10th, on the Plaza in Cashel.

The Councillor says the event gives the public the chance to enjoy some live local music and is extending thanks to Cashel Youth Project and Youth Work Ireland for the opportunity. The Independent Councillor says donations of any amount are welcome on the day.

The five friends in the band are Cameron Quirke, Callum Laverty, Sofia Bondarenko  Jack Dooley and Jack Nugent. The band perform covers but had to produce an original song as part of the qualification for the IYM awards. Attending the Awards gives them a chance to meet other bands  and to take part in song writing, drumming and vocal workshops.

The Irish Youth Music Awards, (IYMAs) will take place May 17th, in the Axis Theatre, Ballymun, Dublin from 10am to 4pm.
