The Tipperary Music Festival begins tonight. This is the third year of the Festival which is focused entirely in a specially installed Marquee at Bank Place. The Festival venue is now in a self-contained compound on the south side of the N24 after being on the grounds of LIDL for the first two years.
The Music Festival Committee, led by Eamon Ryan, says tickets for all nights are still available with Friday night’s concert featuring The Whistlin Donkeys and Saturday’s Tumbling Paddies’ likely to sell out. Thursday night features Michael English and Sunday night will close with Mike Denver. Each night will also have a support act and/or a disco. Tickets can be purchased on tipperarytown.ie, from Joe Whelan’s on Main Street, the Porterhouse or on Eventbrite for the Friday and Saturday night events.
Limited seating is available on Thursday and Sunday nights when patrons can also pay on the door. Doors will open at 8pm tonight, tomorrow and on Saturday and at 7.30pm on Sunday. Bar and food options will also be available on site. This year the Festival offered a free kids disco in the Marquee on Sunday afternoon. This event for children, aged under 14 has sold out – the committee is reminding attendees that children must be accompanied by a guardian or parent (aged over 18) to gain admission to the event.
The committee is also hugely appreciative of the generous support from Tipperary County Council and the local business community for the Festival.
