Gardaí are reminding people to ensure doors are locked and valuables are not kept in their vehicles.
The warning come as Sergeant and Crime Prevention Officer John McCormack says there’s been reports of people trying to access vehicles in Tipperary Town recently.
National data shows the hours between 11pm and 4am are the most common hours for incidents to occur.
Nationally in 2024 there were 7,919 incidents of theft from vehicles recorded which was a significant increase compared to previous years, with vehicle theft and related offences reaching a 12-year high.
Any person that notices any suspicious activity in the vicinity of parked vehicles is asked to contact Tipperary Town Garda on (062) 80670.
