Gardaí & HSA Investigation Underway Surrounding The Death Of A Man On A Farm

Gardaí and the Health & Safety Authority are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a man on a farm near Ardfinnan yesterday morning. It is understood that emergency services were alerted at approximately 11.30am.

It is understood that the man was aged in his 60s and may have been onsite working as a contractor.  He was pronounced deceased at the scene and his body has been removed to University Hospital Waterford for a post-mortem examination.  Gardaí say the results of the Post Mortem Examination will determine the course of their investigation but it’s understood that no foul play is suspected.

The Health and Safety Authority is also investigating and an Inspector from the Authority has visited the scene.

The County Coroner has been notified and Garda will now prepare a file for the Coroner’s Court in the fulfilment of their investigations.
