In addition, councillors will decide on funding allocations for the Ardfinnan and Bansha Painting Enhancement Scheme and select a name for a new housing development in Clogheen.

There are 6 motions on the agenda – Cllr John O’Heney is requesting the council to repair the fence near the Bridge in Bansha village which he describes as an “eyesore” at present. The Councillors’ second motion asks for a water tap to be installed in Cullen Graveyard.

Cllr Liam Browne also has two motions – one requests the extension of the footpath in New Inn village on the east side of the road towards Cashel to the current  100 km speed limit sign.

Cllr Browne also wants a delegation from the Council to meet with Minister Norma Foley to discuss the 2 year contract announced last week in respect of  277 asylum seekers at Dundrum House Hotel Complex. The Independent Councillor wants  a taskforce of local and national state agencies to examine if the needs of  the existing population in Dundrum and the planned arrival of new persons can be met in both the short and longer term as regards education places, training opportunities, recreation activities etc.

Cllr Roger Kennedy is asking that a delegation from the District Council could meet with Minister Jim O’Callaghan, “to discuss the possible benefits to the community  of Dundrum after the expiry of the IPAS contract.” The issue of Migration is currently the responsibility of Minister Foley –  as of May 2nd it is to be transferred to Minister O’Callaghan.

Cllr Anne Marie Ryan’s  motion calls on the Council to upgrade the footpaths  in the St Johns Famine Graveyard, Tipperary town,  which are in need of repair. The motion also asks that the Council take charge of the historic Graveyard which is currently without an official owner following the dissolution  of the Board of Guardians over 70 years ago.
