The Tipperary under 20 hurling team last night secured their 3rd win in the group stages by defeating Waterford on a scoreline of 1-24 to 2-14 in FBD Semple Stadium.
The team lost their first game to Limerick but have now defeated Clare, Cork and Waterford and are straight through to the final. The two teams that qualify for the semi-final will play on May 7th with the final scheduled for May 14th.
The U20 team is managed by Brendan Cummins and the focus will now turn to the Tipperary Senior Hurling Team who take on Cork in Pairc Ui Chaoimh on Sunday at 4pm in their second of 4 Munster Senior Championship Group matches.
The top two teams from Tipperary, Clare, Cork, Limerick and Waterford will contest the Munster Senior Final with the top three teams progressing to the All-Ireland Series.
At the end of the Munster round robin series, should any 2 teams finish level on points, then the result of the game between those 2 teams will be the next tie-breaker. Should the 2 teams in question have played out a draw, the score difference is the next tie breaker.
Should 3 or more teams finish level on points, then the overall score difference taking into account all the games will determine the placings. There are a number of further tie-breakers down the list should they still be level on score difference which are part of the competition regulations.
