Councillors in Thurles are to hold their April Municipal Meeting on Tuesday next at 2pm.
The meeting will give approval to new Parking Bye Laws for the towns of Thurles, Roscrea and Templemore. The Bye Laws are to come into effect next month unless the meeting decides on a later start date. The new Bye Laws may result in significant changes to the mix of parking duration times ranging from 30 minutes to two hours to all day provided at various locations. The councillors may also approve changes to on street arrangements such as on Parnell Street, which is effectively the N62 north bound.In addition, the 9 councillors are to decide on the 2025 grant allocations for District Burial Ground, Tidy Towns Groups, Residents Associations and for Sporting and Voluntary Organisations.
The meeting is also to consider a new Thurles Town Pollinator and Grass Mowing Policy. This will later be put out for public consultation. Thurles MD is inviting the public to meet with Ecologist Anne Marie McMahon in the Source Arts Centre, Thurles on Saturday May 10th between 10am and 1pm to take part in an interactive session to share views on different approaches to grass mowing in residential areas and public parks.
